My name is Kirsten McCully, and I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (PG Dip CBT & Groupwork). CBT With Kirsten is my business and has grown out of absolute love for what I do. I am trained in CBT, Solutions Focused, and Person Centred modalities.

For me, therapy should be wholly focused on you and your needs. My mission with this business is to provide affordable, accessible therapy to all regardless of circumstances.

I am warm, calming, and supportive (you can read some of my client's testimonials here for their opinion) as well as educated. The relationship between you and I is what is most important - I might have the qualifications, but you are the expert on you!

My journey towards this career started over a decade ago, studying Psychology as part of my Social Sciences degree. I went on to complete the HNC COSCA Counselling Skills course at University of Aberdeen, and most recently my Postgraduate Diploma in CBT and Groupwork with ACT Counselling Services. I have volunteered with Samaritans and Rape Crisis in Aberdeen, as well as student placements with Lanarkshire Association of Mental Health and the Violence Reduction Unit (Police Scotland). I worked as a Mental Health Support Worker with adults who have complex and enduring mental health issues whilst studying and have years of experience in working with many different disorders.

I am a member of the BABCP and adhere to their code of ethics and principles. I attend regular supervision which allows me to reflect on my practice, as well as attending CPD (Continuous Professional Development) events to ensure my knowledge and skills are relevant and current. I am fully insured to conduct work as a qualified therapist.

When I am not thriving as a therapist, I am kept busy with my family and getting out in nature. I love going for road trips and big walks out in our stunning countryside.

I love creative writing and have self-published two books - a bucket list dream of mine!

My love for food has no bounds. I enjoy cooking, experimenting with flavours, and trying new restaurants and cultures where possible.
